Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services has been approved by the Ohio Department of Education as a Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship provider. We are currently accepting students receiving this scholarship for Wilson Reading System instruction for the 2018-2019 school year.
Wilson Reading System Tutoring
The Wilson Reading System is a systematic, multi-sensory, research-based intervention program for students in grades 2-12 and adults with basic reading skill deficits. This program is specially designed for individuals who are not making adequate progress in reading; have been unsuccessful with other reading intervention strategies; or who require more intensive literacy instruction, including individuals who have a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia. To teach the structure of the English language, every lesson includes instruction in:
Decoding and Word Study
Sight Word Recognition
Oral Expressive Language Development
Typically, tutoring sessions last 45-60 minutes, 2-5 times in a one-on-one setting; however, the sessions can be customized to meet your needs. We work with both individuals clients and in collaboration with educational organizations to provide services in a variety of locations throughout the Greater Cleveland and Akron area.
The Wilson Reading System is endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education and the Wilson Language Training has been accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Education has approved the Wilson Reading System for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.

Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services provides recommendations that can be used in educational planning.
For K-12 students, this may include strategies for your child's teacher, private tutor, or family members to use at home. Such recommendations will be reflective of your child's needs and may include accommodations and/or direct instruction strategies.
For adult clients, we can provide recommendations to be utilized by the university as well as strategies to increase your individual success within a secondary educational setting. These can include accommodations for a Section 504 Plan in the classroom setting or standardized professional assessments.
Having worked as school psychologists in the public schools, we at Achievement Advantage Assessment & Services understand that special education can be a complicated process. We are available to attend meetings with you and your educational team to help guide you through the process and act as a liaison between you and school staff.
